Morning Adventure Camp Agreement: I am aware, in signing this document for my/my child’s participation in this program, that certain elements of the program could be physically and emotionally demanding. Furthermore, I understand that certain risks and dangers inherent in the activities in which I/my child will be participating. I acknowledge that while the organisation and its leaders will make every reasonable effort to minimize exposure to known risks, all hazards and dangers associated with these activities cannot be foreseen or may be beyond the control of the organisation, its leaders and staff. In the event of an emergency where the nominated contact people are unavailable: - I authorise the leaders to obtain medical advice and/or assistance which they deem necessary. - I further authorise qualified practitioners to administer anaesthetic if required. - I accept all operation, blood transfusion and/pr anaesthetic risks involved in the event that such procedures are deemed necessary. - I accept the responsibility for payment and agree to pay medical, transport and any other related expenses. - I confirm that the information contained in this form is true and correct. - I agree to information the leader of any change to these details. *

I acknowledge: On some of the camps, activities may have to be cancelled or altered due to weather threats, fire bans etc. If this is the case, Mornington Adventure Camp will do its best to replace the activity with something similar. For example, canoeing may be replaced with raft building. The school will be provided with risk assessments for any new activities being run on camp. - I/my child declare(s) that they have read the information sheet and personal equipment list for their safe participation in the named activity and will endeavour to ensure I have all items listed. - I/My child will participate in an information session providing safety rules and procedures and understand that there may be some risk involved. - I/My child agree to be responsible for taking the time to learn safety techniques and the proper use and limitations of each piece of equipment. - I/My Child acknowledge I/My child may refuse to participate in any part of the activity I/My child feel(s) apprehensive about, (if this does not endanger my/my child or the other participants or leaders) - I/My child agree(s) that if they suffer injury or illness, the organisers can arrange medical treatment and emergency evacuation services as the organisers deem necessary for my/their safety or wellbeing. *

By signing this form, I acknowledge that participation in the activities and the use of the facilities at Mornington Adventure Camp (Camp Mornington) involves risk of personal injury, and that by participating in any of the activities and using the facilities, I acknowledge that I am doing so freely and willingly and agree that I will abide by the directions of the staff of Mornington Adventure Camp (Camp Mornington) at all times. I agree that Mornington Adventure Camp (Camp Mornington), Australasian Conference Association Limited and/or Seventh-Day Adventist Church (Western Australia Conference) Limited (CAN 104 553 808) shall not be liable for any bodily injury, personal injury, loss, claim, costs or damage of any kind suffered to me whilst participating in the activity and using the facilities that was not the consequence of any act or omission of Mornington Adventure Camp (Camp Mornington), Australasian Conference Association Limited and/or Seventh-Day Adventist Church (Western Australia Conference) Limited (CAN 104 553 808), providing always that the liability of Mornington Adventure Camp (Camp Mornington), Australasian Conference Association Limited and/or Seventh-Day Adventist Church (Western Australia Conference) Limited (CAN 104 553 808) to me is limited to the extent to which the act or omission may have contributed to the injury, loss, claim, cost or damage. *

Swimming Trials 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

In the lead up to the Inter-house Swimming Carnival, students in Years 3 to 6 will participate in swimming trials. Selected Year 2 students who can swim an entire lap (25m) of a stroke (freestyle, breaststroke) may also be selected to attend these trials but parents will be contacted individually or you can contact the school.

These trials will occur Wednesday's from Weeks 2 to 5 at 1.30pm to 2.15pm for Years 3-6. Wednesday Week 6 will consist of a practise run for the upcoming carnival between 1.30pm to 2.15pm.

Students will walk to and from the pool. If you do not have a season pass for the pool, you will be required to pay $3 per child for entry to the pool. Students who do not bring their money will participate in sport at school instead of attending swimming.

All students compete in their year groups. Students will be timed in each faction for Freestyle, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Backstroke. This is only for the INDIVIDUAL events at the carnival. If your child does not qualify for an individual event they still attend the carnival and compete in the novelty events.

Please make sure that your child brings their bathers, towel, thongs and goggles for each of the days they are swimming. Sunscreen will be provided by the school however if your child needs an alternative sunscreen please make sure you have provided your child with this.

We are also searching for volunteers to assist with the timing of students during the above times. If you can assist, we would love to hear from you via the attached permission form. I will contact those who are available to assist directly to confirm.

Students who do not return forms and payment (where applicable) by due date will not attend the pool for the training session; they will remain at school.

Year 7 Mornington Camp Reminder

Dear Parents and Carers,

We're thrilled to remind you that our student camp begins this Monday! We eagerly anticipate an unforgettable 3 days, brimming with adventure, learning, and the forging of new friendships.

As the primary goal of this camp is to foster team building and cultivate relationships, electronic devices such as mobile phones will NOT be permitted. In the event of an emergency or necessary communication with parents, please contact the school at 9765 0000 or directly reach the school mobile at 9765 0013.

Students will arrive at school as per a normal school day. Parents and students can drop off their packed camp equipment in to the hall at the start of the school day.

Here's the itinerary:

Departure from school: Monday at 10:30 am
Arrival at Mornington Adventure Camp: Monday at 12:00 pm
Departure from Mornington Adventure Camp: Wednesday at 12:30 pm
Return to school: Wednesday at 2:00 pm
